Sprenger Fireplace Remodel
AutoCAD - Photoshop - InDesign
The Sprengers are remodeling their living room fireplace. The current fireplace is a burgundy marble tile with a white mantel that clashes with the tan wall finish. The kitchen, adjacent to the living room, was previously remodeled with a natural tan stone backsplash. The Sprengers want to unify their kitchen and living room space by using a tan natural stone wall tole on their fireplace. They are considering a black slate floor tile for the hearth.
The Sprengers requested multiple visual option for their fireplace, to accommodate them, I designed a couple of options with different tile sizes and finishes to meet their request. The first fireplace redesign option includes a larger tile size with a matte finish, a black slate floor tile, and a reddish brown stained wooden mantel. The second fireplace design option includes a smaller naturally textured wall tile, a dark gray slate floor tile, and a warm brown stained wood mantle.
The Sprengers ended up preferring wall tile option 1 in a straight stacked. They opted out of floor tile and feathered in wood floor to stain to match their existing floor. They choose mantel option 2.
Before and After
The Sprengers were happy with the renovated fireplace. The selected tile and mantel warmed up the living room and the horizontal straight stacked tile modernized the fireplace.
