Design Statement

Mary Crane is the owner of the Rosethorn Inn, a four story hotel with a reception area, small event space, and dining area on the first floor and twelve hotel rooms on each of the upper floors totaling 36 rooms. The Rosethorn Inn offers two different sized rooms, the king sized bed and two queen sized bed rooms but Ms. Crane expressed that she wanted designs for only the king bed suite. All the hotel rooms feature a living room, bathroom, and small kitchenette. Currently the Rosethorn Inn is furnished with a mid century modern style of design but Ms. Crane wants to revamp her hotel with a more ornate style of design. Ms. Crane favors the 1920’s art deco and art nouveau style of design and wants to incorporate a modern version of those styles into her hotel. Ms Crane’s budget is in the mid price range and she is concerned about the durability of the furniture and fabric selection. Crane requested to keep her existing toilets, showers, and sliding doors.
